Effects of Culture Substrates and Hormone Concentrations on the Cutting Rooting of Syzygium samarangense Shoots
[Objective] To research the cutting of Syzygium samarangense (B1.) Merr.et Perry shoots by orthogonal test, and to study the effects of culture substrates and hormone concentrations on the survival rate and rooting number of S.samarangense.[Method] With the current-year semi-lignified shoots as the cutting slips, effects of 250,500 and 1 000 mg/L ABT solutions were investigated. After cultivated in yellow sand and perlite for 60 d,the rooting rate of each treatment was counted. And the rooting number and rooting length were calcuahed.[Result] Average survival rate of cutting slips treated with 500 mg/L ABT were the highest (61.700%) after being cultivated in perlite. The root of cutting slips cultivated in perlite was not easily damaged during transplanting, which was helpful to the enhancement of survival rate.[Conclusion] The optimal combination was cutting slips cultivated in perlite after 500 mg/L ABT solution treatment.
