Comparison of Two Syzygiums samarangense Cultivars in Northwest China
[Objective]The botanical character, fruit appearance and internal quality of two Syzygiums samarangense cultivars in the northwest of China were studied in this paper.[Method]Tree growth and fruiting habit were investigated to discuss adaptability of Syzygiums samarangense in the northwest of China for continuous 4 years.[Result]Kingbox Syzygiums samarangense phenophase was similar to Black pearl Syzygiums samarangense in the northwest of China.The fruit of Kingbox was bigger than Black pearl′s.There were higher contents of vitamin C and total soluble solid of kingbox.[Conclusion]Kingbox Syzygiums samarangense was a high-quality cultivar that worthy of spreading on a large scale in the northwest of China.
