Effects of Paclobutrazole on Growth and Physiological Indexes of Grafted Watermelon Seedlings
Using white seed pumpkin as grafting rootstock, different concentrations of paclobutrazol(0,10,20,30,40,50 mg/L)were sprayed on substrate and rootstock cotyledons to analyze the effects of different concentrations of paclobutrazol and spraying methods on the growth and physiological indicators of early spring grafted watermelon seedlings. The results showed that a certain concentration of paclobutrazol treatment could inhibit the elongation of watermelon grafted seedlings, increase stem diameter, seedling index, root activity and antioxidant en-zyme activity, which was beneficial for cultivating healthy seedlings. The optimal concentration of paclobutrazole was 30 mg/L.The optimal concentration of paclobutrazole sprayed on rootstock was 40 mg/L.
