Effects of Different Priming Treatments on Seed Germination of Psammosilene tunic aides
Using sodium hypochlorite(NaOCl),polyethylene glycol(PEG)and H2O to initiate treatment of Psammosilene tunicoides seeds,the effects of different treatments on the germination of P.tunicoides seeds were studied.The results showed that the P.tunicoides seeds treated with NaOCl disinfection,when placed under constant temperature conditions of 20 ℃,it had the highest germination index,germination rate and germination potential were also relatively high.The highest germination rate and germination potential in the 18 h water initiation treatment,of 33.50%and 25.10%,respectively,the germination index was significantly higher at 24 h than at the other treatments,but its root length,seedling length,seedling fresh weight were not too much difference.The PEG initiation treatment was related to its concentration,0.5%PEG initiation treatment promoted seed germination more than 1.0%PEG and 2.0%PEG treatment,treatment with 0.5%PEG for 6-18 h could significantly improve the germination rate,germination potential and germination index of P.tunicoides seeds,thus could also improve the ger-mination rate of seeds,make the seedlings neat.
