Research Progress on Controlling Citrus Postharvest Diseases by Bacillus
It is very common for citrus to rot during the late growth period, post harvest transportation and storage period, resulting in the de-terioration of fruit quality and serious economic losses.Bacillus has broad-spectrum antibacterial activity and has been widely used in agricul-tural production. The research reports on the prevention and control of citrus postharvest diseases by spore citrus at home and abroad in recent years were analyzed. It was found that the research on controlling citrus postharvest diseases by Bacillus mainly focused on green mold and penicillium, and there were also a few reports on acid rot and anthrax;Antagonistic strains mainly include Bacillus subtilis and Bacillus amyloliquefaciens, and other Bacillus species are less;Biocontrol mechanisms mainly involve the production of antibacterial substances,compe-tition for nutrients and space, and induction of systemic resistance. The resource exploration and action mechanism of Bacillus spp.against cit-rus postharvest diseases need to be further studied.
