Effect of Biochar on Hg Content in Soil-plant System
[Objective]To study the change trend of Hg content in soil and plants under the influence of biochar.[Method]The aeolian sandy soil of Zhanggu Platform was used as the research object.Different concentrations of exogenous Hg and different concentration gradients of bio-char were added to the soil, and soil and plant samples were measured.[Result]Under the treatment of different concentrations of exogenous Hg,the Hg residual rate in soil,Hg residual rate and enrichment coefficient in plants all performed better under the biochar addition amount of 16.0 g/kg.When the exogenous Hg concentration was 16.0 mg/kg and the amount of biochar was 16.0 g/kg,the Hg residue rate in soil was increased and reached 47.204%,the lowest Hg residue rate in plants was 37.193%,and the lowest enrichment coefficient was 0.844.When the concentration of exogenous Hg was 32.0 mg/kg,soil Hg residue rate was increased by 7.949 percentage points. When the concentration of biochar was 4.0 g/kg,the residual rate of Hg in plants was reduced by 12.145 percentage points, the enrichment coefficient decreased by 0.734.[Conclusion]Biochar can passivate mercury in soil and has the characteristics of repairing and improving mercury-contaminated soil, and the best effect is achieved when the addition amount is 16.0 g/kg.
