Effects of Different Pulling Cotton Stalk Time on Cotton Yield and Quality
Hybrid cotton "Ruiza 818" was used as material, the experiment of garlic interplanting cotton was carried out in the experimental base of Heze Academy of Agricultural Sciences from 2021 to 2022, the effects of different stalk pulling time ( September 20, September 25, September 30, October 5 and October 10) on the yield and quality of bolls in different parts of cotton plants were studied. The results showed that the effect of stalk pulling time on boll weight, lint percentage and seed cotton yield in the middle and lower parts of cotton plant was not obvious, while the earlier the stalk pulling time, the greater the effect on the upper boll of cotton plant. The average length, breaking strength and micronaire value of the upper half of cotton fiber decreased with the advance of stalk pulling time, and the earlier the stalk pulling time, the greater the decrease. The effect of stalk pulling time on the average length, breaking strength and micronaire value of the upper half of boll fiber in the lower part of cotton plant was not obvious, but it had a great influence on the middle and upper bolls, the average fiber length, breaking strength and micronaire of the upper part of the cotton plant on September 20 were 11.91%, 9.99% and 14.29% lower than those on October 10, respectively.
