Study on Early Growth and Development Traits of Different Yangtze River Delta White Goat Crossbreed Combinations
In order to investigate the differences in the growth and development among different hybrid combinations of Yangtze River Delta white goats( YDW) , cross breeding was conducted using Yangtze River Delta white goats as the female parent, with Saanen Dairy Goat( SN) and Boer Goat (BR)as the male parent. The changes of body weight and body size indices of SN×YDW(F1), BR×SN×YDW (F2), and YDW ( F0 ) within 60 days were analyzed. The results showed that the body weight at different day-ages and average daily gain of BR × SN × YDW (F2) were significantly higher than YDW F0. The body weight at different day-ages and average daily gain of BR×SN×YDW (F2) was higher than that of SN×YDW(F1), the body weight at different day-ages and average daily gain of SN×YDW(F1) was higher than that of YDW (F0), but there was no significant difference(P>0.05). During the whole experimental period, the body size indices of BR×SN×YDW (F2) and SN×YDW(F1) were higher than YDW(F0) at different day-ages,but the differences were not significant (P>0.05). The body size of the goats in each group increased with the day-age. This study analyzed the early growth and development traits of different hybrid combinations of goat breeds, which provided certain references for cultivating Yangtze River Delta white goat meat varieties ( lines) with high economic values.
