Effects of Nitrogen Application Rate on Growth, Yield and Quality of Flue-cured Tobacco in South of Jiangxi Province
In order to explore the effects of different nitrogen application rates on the growth and development of flue-cured tobacco in south of Jiangxi Province,as well as the yield and quality of tobacco leaves, and to clarify the appropriate nitrogen application rate in tobacco area.Flue-cured tobacco variety Yunyan 87 was used as the material, five nitrogen fertilizer application experiments with different gradients ( 120. 0, 127.5,135.0,142.5 and 150.0 kg/hm2) were conducted.A randomized block design was used to study the effects of different nitrogen applica-tion rates on the agronomic traits, yield, output value, and quality of flue-cured tobacco in the southern Jiangxi tobacco region. The results showed that within a certain range of nitrogen application, with the increase of nitrogen application rate, the stem circumference, effective leaf number, yield, average price, output value, and proportion of middle to upper grade tobacco of flue-cured tobacco increased. When the pure ni-trogen application rate exceeded 142. 5 kg/hm2 , the yield and quality of tobacco leaves decreased. At a nitrogen application rate of 142.5 kg/hm2 ,tobacco plants exhibited excellent growth vigor, agronomic traits, highest yield, and relatively coordinated internal chemical com-ponents.
