Research on the Impact of China's E-commerce Development on Farmers' Entrepreneurship
The development of e-commerce has brought a wide and profound impact on agricultural production and business activities, and has become an important driving force to promote farmers' entrepreneurship and rural economic development. This paper empirically examines the impact of the level of e-commerce development on farmers' entrepreneurship based on the panel data of 31 provinces ( cities) in China from 2013 to 2021 and analyses the regional differences. The findings show that the level of e-commerce development has a significant promotion effect on farmers' entrepreneurship, which means that with the development of e-commerce,farmers are more likely to participate in entrepre-neurial activities. However, this impact is highly variable across regions.Compared to the central and western regions, the development of e-com-merce has a greater role in enhancing farmers' entrepreneurship in the eastern region.Further mechanism analyses show that there is a signifi-cant mediating effect of industrial structure upgrading in the impact of e-commerce development on farmers' entrepreneurship.
