Comparative Study of Combined Seedling Cultivation Technology and Conventional Seedling Cultivation of Gleditsia vestita in Specific Forest Environment
[Objective]In order to improve the germination rate of Gleditsia vestita in the field and accelerate the population regression. [Method]The combined seedling cultivation technology test was carried out in a specific forest environment and compared with the conventional seedling cultivation in the nursery. In this research, the effects of technology combination including small shovel breaking, surface seeding and dead cover on germination rate and seedling growth were studied. [Result]The results showed that the germination rates of small shovel break-ing seeding or surface seeding combined with 4 different dead cover were (A1) 61.67%,(A2) 55.56%,(A3) 61.11% and (A4) 57.22%,respectively,which were higher than the (A5) 35.03% of conventional cultivation seedling. Both A1 (seeds were planted after the small shov-el broke the soil, and covered by 1cm thick surface organic soil + 3 cm thick coarse humus + undecomposed litter layer) and A3(seeds were sown on the surface of the soil, and covered with 3 cm thick coarse humus + undecomposed litter layer) are the best combination. The seedling rate (ratio of seedling number to germination number × 100%) and seedling growth quantity of conventional cultivation seedling were slightly higher than those of other treatments, which indicated the importance of seedling management. However, from the comparison of the total number of seedlings, the conventional cultivation (60 seedlings) were smaller than A1-A4 treatments (106,85,95 and 88 seedlings,respec-tively). [Conclusion]It is an effective seedling method to increase germination rate and seedlings number in a specific forest environment un-der the mother tree by using the combination of shovel breaking or surface seeding with forest dead litter covering.
