Identification and Content Determination of Simmered Radix Puerariae from Different Producing Areas
The microscopic identification method was used to preliminarily identify the external shape and internal organizational structure of simmered Radix Puerariae from Sichuan,Anhui and Hubei Provinces.Thin-layer chromatography (TLC) was applied to identify the main ac-tive ingredient puerarin in simmered Radix Puerariae,and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was used to detect the puerarin content,the content and differences of the active ingredient puerarin in simmered Radix Puerariae from three producing areas were compared and analyzed.The results showed that puerarin was present in all three producing areas of simmered Radix Puerariae.The puerarin content in the samples from Sichuan region was higher than that from Anhui and Hubei regions.However,the puerarin content in simmered Radix Puerari-ae from different regions met the standards of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia,and there was a certain correlation between the puerarin content and the producing areas.
