Study on the Correlation Between Grey Whiteness and Conventional Chemical Composition of Cigar Tobacco
[Objective]To study the relationship between conventional chemical components in cigar tobacco leaves and ash whiteness.[Meth-od]The contents of total sugar,reducing sugar,total nitrogen,nicotine,potassium,chlorine and the whiteness of cigarette ash were tested in 77 cigar samples at home and abroad,correlation analysis and stepwise regression analysis were used to analyze the data. [Result]There were significant differences in the conventional chemical composition and ash whiteness of cigar tobacco leaves from different production areas both domestically and internationally. The ash whiteness of cigar tobacco leaves was extremely significant negatively correlated with the potassium and total sugar content in the tobacco leaves,and significantly negatively correlated with the nicotine content in the tobacco leaves.[Conclu-sion]This study had some reference significance for improving the combustion quality of cigars and the whiteness of cigarette ash.
