Study on the Impact of Rural Population Aging on Agricultural Production Efficiency——Taking the Yangtze River Economic Belt as an Example
Based on the provincial panel data of the Yangtze River Economic Belt from 2012 to 2021,the super efficiency SBM model is used to measure the agricultural production efficiency of the economic belt, and an OLS model is constructed to analyze the impact of rural popula-tion aging on agricultural production efficiency in the economic belt. Research results show that:① The agricultural production efficiency level in the Yangtze River Economic Belt was relatively high from 2012 to 2021,and showed a trend of decreasing first and then increasing. Among various regions, the agricultural production efficiency values in the downstream are the highest, while those in the upstream are the lowest. However, there is no significant difference in efficiency values among different regions. Among all provinces (cities),Shanghai has the high-est agricultural production efficiency, while Chongqing has the lowest efficiency value, and only Chongqing has an average efficiency of less than 1. ② Regression analysis shows that the aging of rural population in the Yangtze River Economic Belt has a significant negative impact on agricultural production efficiency. Regional heterogeneity analysis shows that the aging of rural population has a significant inhibitory effect on the improvement of agricultural production efficiency in the upstream, while it has a significant promoting effect on the middle and downstream.
