Based on the quantitative analysis of grassland ecological footprint and ecological carrying capacity in Xilin Gol League in the past 20 years,this paper found that the grassland ecological footprint in Xilin Gol League is increasing,while its ecological carrying capacity is de-creasing,and the grassland has been in ecological deficit for a long time. The problems of grassland ecological deficit in Xilin Gol League are caused by factors such as lack of vitality in grassland ecological construction and restoration and still prominent contradiction between man,grass and livestock. In order to eliminate the ecological deficit of grassland and promote the sustainable development of grassland ecology,the countermeasures and suggestions of strengthening grassland ecological restoration and building grassland natural park system are put forward.
