Spatial and Temporal Variations of the Zooplankton Community Structure in the Yueqing Bay Waters
The spatial and temporal variation characteristics of the zooplankton community structure in the surveyed waters were analyzed based on the survey data from Yueqing Bay waters in February ( winter) and August ( summer) 2021. The result showed that the zooplankton community structure in the Yueqing Bay waters exhibited significant seasonal changes, with the number of zooplankton species, biomass, abundance and species diversity index being significantly higher in August ( summer) than in February ( winter) . The differences in community structure between the two seasons were mainly attributed to two taxa (medusa and planktonic larva). In terms of spatial distribution, there were certain differences in the community structure of zooplankton in the inner bay area of Leqing Bay compared to the central bay and outer bay ar-eas. The biomass and abundance of zooplankton in the outer bay to inner bay areas generally showed a decreasing trend, while the spatial differences between the central bay and outer bay areas were relatively small. This indicated that the thermal drainage of the two power plants ( Huaneng Yuhuan Power Plant and Zheneng Leqing Power Plant) had not have a significant impact on the community structure of zooplankton in the entire Leqing Bay area, its impact may mainly be concentrated in the sea area adjacent to the warm discharge outlet.
