Effect of Rhizobacteria on Growth in Tomato Seedling
Five bacterial strains were selected in tomato rhizosphere soil using Ashby's nitrogen-free agar medium, and their biological classi-fications were identified, respectively. Tomato was used to study the effects of five rhizobacteria on growth and root architecture. The results showed that all five strains significantly decreased the plant height and SPAD index in tomato seedlings.FN2 and FN6 significantly decreased the dry weight, fresh weight and shoot projected area.FN6 also decreased the total root surface area and total root volume of tomato. In a word, the five rhizobacteria did not emerge a positive effect, and this study provided a vigilance against the potential risks on application of rhizobacteria.
