Effects of NaCl and NaHCO3 Stress on Seed Germination of Winter Rye
[Objective]To explore the salt and alkali tolerance of winter rye varieties.[Method]We used 10 neutral salts(NaCl)with differ-ent gradient concentrations(50,100,150,200,250,300,350,400,450,500 mmol/L)by the method of NaCl∶NaHCO3=1∶1 with BK01 as the research materials.[Result]Germination rate, germination potential, germination index, root length, root weight, seedling weight and vigor index of all treatments decreased with the increase of NaCl concentration.SOD activity decreased first, then increased and then decreased with the increase of sodium salt concentration, while POD and CAT activities increased first and then decreased.Using seed germination rate as the optimum concentration index of sodium salt stress, the semi-lethal concentration of winter rye seeds to neutral salt(NaCl),alkaline salt(NaH-CO3)and saline-alkali mixture(NaCl∶NaHCO3=1∶1)was determined by linear regression 408.69,251.07,298.27 mmol/L.According to the comprehensive score of membership function method, the resistance of winter rye seeds to three kinds of sodium salt stress was in the order of neutral single salt(NaCl)>salt alkali mixture(NaCl∶NaHCO3 molar ratio 1∶1)>alkaline single salt(NaHCO3).[Conclusion]Under the same Na concentration,NaHCO3 solution had stronger inhibition on seed germination than NaCl.
