Study on Grafting Tchnique of Cunninghamia lanceolata Seed Garden in Winter
[Objective]To prolong grafting time of Cunninghamia lanceolata seed orchard, relieve the labor shortage and improve the grafting effect.[Method]The effects of different grafting methods, scion type, rootstock size, bagging or not on the survival rate, positive crown rate, high scion growth and coarse growth of Cunninghamia lanceolata grafted seedlings in winter were investigated by using 2-year old Cunning-hamia lanceolata seedlings in the 2nd generation seed garden of Gaobeng Forest Farm, Chongyi County, Ganzhou City.[Result] In addition to different rootstock sizes, different grafting methods, scion types, bagging or not had significant differences on the survival rate, positive crown rate, high scion growth and coarse scion growth after grafting in winter. The graft survival rate, positive crown rate, high growth and coarse growth of scion were 96.6%, 82.8%, 49.7 cm and 11.12 mm, respectively.[Conclusion] In the winter grafting of Cunninghamia lanceolata seed garden, the best effect is to use the cutting grafting method, using the first section of thick spike with terminal bud as scion, grafting on the stock of about 3 cm in size, and doing the bagging management after grafting. It provides a new method for improving the graft-ing effect of Cunninghamia lanceolata seed orchard in production.
