Screening and Identification of 24 Soybean Varieties for Salt and Alkalinity Tolerance
A total of 24 soybean varieties were planted on two non-adjacent lightly saline alkali plots and heavily saline alkali plots, and field experiments were conducted. We measured and analyzed the morphological traits and yield of 24 different soybean varieties. The results showed that under severe saline alkali conditions, the changes in plant height, number of main stem nodes, number of pods per plant, number of grains per plant and grain weight per plant of soybean plants reduced in different degrees, compared to those under mild saline alkali conditions.Com-pared to mild saline alkali conditions, the yield of each soybean variety decreased by 14.3%-30.4% under severe saline alkali conditions, and the yield difference reached a significant level, with 6 reaching extremely significant levels.Tiedou 119 and Shennongdou 38 had lower propor-tion of yield decrease, which were 14.3% and 16.4%,respectively.Thus,Tiedou 119 had the best salt and alkaline tolerance, followed by Shennongdou 38,and Fulaidu 168 had the largest proportion of yield decrease(30.4%),indicating the worst salt and alkaline tolerance.
