The Impact of Agricultural Insurance in the Yangtze River Economic Belt on the Income Gap Between Urban and Rural Areas——Based on the Intermediary Effect of Rural Labor Transfer
Based on the provincial panel data of the Yangtze River Economic Belt from 2012 to 2021,this article uses the OLS model to ana-lyze the impact of agricultural insurance on the urban-rural income gap in the Yangtze River Economic Belt and various regions. The distribu-tion mediation effect model is used to analyze the mediation effect of rural labor transfer in the impact of agricultural insurance on the urban-ru-ral income gap. The results showed that:agricultural insurance has a significant narrowing effect on the overall income gap between urban and rural areas in the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the upper reaches,while it has a significant widening effect on the income gap between ur-ban and rural areas in the middle and lower reaches,and has no significant narrowing effect on the lower reaches;agricultural insurance serves as a partial intermediary for the urban-rural income gap,and rural labor transfer plays a partial intermediary role in narrowing the urban-rural income gap.
