Effects of Different Rootstock Grafting on Resistance,Quality and Yield of Oriental Melon
In order to investigate the effects of different rootstock grafting on resistance, quality, and yield of oriental melon, pumpkin stock (Ribenxuesong),muskmelon stock (Yongzhen No.9),and oriental melon stock (inbred line No.63) were used as rootstocks for grafting on o-riental melon. The results showed that pumpkin rootstock grafted seedlings had good moisture resistance and disease resistance, with a soluble solid content of 14.30% in the fruit, poor fruit taste and fermented fruit after maturity. For the muskmelon stock grafted seedlings, the rootstock was prone to rot at the moisturizing period, however, after survival, the seedlings had good disease resistance and the highest yield, with a solu-ble solid content of 15.10% in the fruit. The oriental melon rootstock grafted seedlings had good moisture resistance and poor resistance to wilt disease, with a soluble solid content of 15.30% in the fruit, good flavor and the lowest yield.
