Ornamental grasses are rich in resources and species,with outstanding ornamental and ecological values,and are increasingly widely used in gardens.This paper provides a comprehensive review of the progress of ornamental grass research during the period of rapid growth of Chinese literature,i.e.,after 2017.It includes the rise of ornamental grasses,bibliometrics analysis,research history,current status and future outlook;with a view to providing more theoretical foundation and practical basis for the scientific study of ornamental grasses and their applica-tion in gardens.
