Plant Hormone Regulation of Root Hydrotropic Response
Terrestrial plants have evolved remarkable morphological plasticity that enables them to compensate for their lack of motility by di-rectional growth in response to various environmental stimuli.Hydrotropism allows roots to forage for water in the soil,a process known to facili-tate plant adaptation to continuously changing water availability. This paper reviews the latest research progress on abscisic acid, cytokinins, and auxins in root hydration, and discusses existing issues. In order to enhance the understanding of plant root treatment, regulation, and inte-gration of plant growth,as well as response to water stimulation signals.
