Influence of Different Floors on Natural Aging Process and Quality of Flue-cured Tobacco of Longjiang 911
The aim of this study was to explore the influence of different storage floors on the aging process and quality of flue-cured tobacco of Longjiang 911.The tobacco strips of tobacco cultivar Longjiang 911 were stored at different floors in Xinzheng warehouse of Henan Province:the first floor of warehouse No.5(5-1),the third floor of warehouse No.5(5-3).The dynamic changes of chemical contents and sensory quality of tobacco strips were studied. The results showed that the pH value, total sugar, reduced sugar, total nitrogen, total plant alkaloid, plastid pigment and polyphenol decreased, while the iodine absorbency value increased with the increasing of aging time.In the process of nat-ural aging, the decrease of pH value, total sugar, reduced sugar and plastid pigment contents of tobacco strips under 5-3 treatment were higher than that of 5-1 treatment, and the increase of iodine absorbency values of 5-3 tobacco were higher than that of 5-1 treatment. The sensory quality score showed the trend of rising first and falling later. The sensory quality of tobacco strips aged under 5-1 and 5-3 warehouses reached the best at the 27 and 24th months, respectively. The quality-preserving effect of the 5-1 treatment was better than the 5-3 treatment.
