Drought Tolerance Evaluation of Eight Phalaenopsis Cultivars
[Objective]To understand the drought tolerance of different Phalaenopsis species,to explore the mechanism of drought tolerance of Phalaenopsis, and to provide theoretical support for domestic breeding and introduction of Phalaenopsis and water-saving related applications in production.[Method]Eight different varieties of Phalaenopsis were selected and treated with natural water loss method. On the 20th day of treatment, the relevant indexes of the control group and the treatment group were measured respectively, including fresh weight of the above-ground part, fresh weight of the underground part, dry weight of the above-ground part, dry weight of the underground part, chlorophyll content and other indexes.[Result]The wilting leaf ratio of'radiant'was 0.42,which was the lowest among the 8 varieties.Aboveground fresh weight, aboveground dry weight, aboveground dry weight to aboveground fresh weight ratio and underground dry weight to underground fresh weight ratio were all greater than 1,and the underground fresh weight stress index of'red agate'was 0.35,along with the aboveground fresh weight, aboveground dry weight and chlorophyll content stress index were much lower than the other 7 varieties.[Conclusion]Under the same drought stress,'Radiant'showed better drought resistance than other varieties,'red agate'showed worse drought resistance.
