Superior Tree Selection of Guangxi Characteristic Cunninghamia lanceolata
In order to provide a theoretical basis for the selection and breeding of improved varieties of Taxodiaceae plants,the growth of Guangxi characteristic Cunninghamia lanceolata were investigated by using five dominant tree comparison methods.A total of 35 superior trees and 175 dominant trees were selected.Through statistical analysis,the range for the selection of superior trees was determined:DBH and vol-ume were 207% and 569% of the average value of dominant trees,respectively,and tree height was greater than the average value of dominant trees.According to this range,35 candidate superior trees were re-selected,and 19 superior trees of grade I and 6 superior trees of grade II were obtained.The selection rates were 54.29% and 17.14%,respectively,which could provide high-quality germplasm materials for the construction of clonal seed orchard of Cunninghamia lanceolata.
