Research Progress on the Hazards of Cyanobacterial Blooms in Aquaculture Ponds and Biological Control Measures
Cyanobacterial blooms is one of the frequent and significant environmental issues in pond aquaculture production. In addition to cau-sing environmental harm to pond,it also negatively impacts aquaculture animal growth, lowers the quality of aquatic products, and costs farmers a significant amount of money. As a result, sustaining ecological health, guaranteeing aquaculture productivity, and effectively preventing and controlling cyanobacterial blooms have emerged as critical technical issues.Currently, one of the best strategies is biological control, which is crucial in limiting outbreaks of blue-green algae and making use of their primary productivity. The causes, risks, and advancements in biological control approaches for cyanobacterial blooms in ponds are examined in this paper. It highlights that the most efficient method for preventing and controlling cyanobacterial blooms at the moment is biological control technology, which possesses the qualities of sustainability and environmen-tal friendliness.Future research is required to broaden the theoretical framework and technological applications of biological control of cyanobac-terial blooms.Additionally, new practical solutions for the all-encompassing prevention and management of cyanobacterial blooms in aquaculture ponds must be provided.
