Study on Land Use Change in Wuhu in the Past 16 Years
Based on Landsat TM/ETM images of 1988, 2001 and 2004, land use information of Wuhu city were abstracted with man-machine interactive interpreting and analyzing method. And dynamic changes in land use in Wuhu in the past 16 years were studied. The results showed that great changes took place in land use, particularly reflected by the noticeable decrease in area of cultivated land, and increase in industrial land, residential land and traffic land. The change rate of the industrial land was the highest. The intensive degree of land use duratively increased. Intensifying cultivated land protection, reasonably controlling scales of land use for construction, scientifically planning urban land utilization were regarded as the reasonable approach for the sustainable utilization of land.
