Spatiotemporal Distribution Characteristics and Influencing Factors of Homestays in Hangzhou City under the COVID-19 Epidemic Situation
Taking Hangzhou, which has the second largest number of homestays in China,as an example, this study discusses the impact of the COVID-19 on the spatial distribution of homestays in China from two dimen-sions of time and space.Using the nearest neighbor index method,Kernel density estimation method, the center point method and other spatial analysis methods, the spatio-temporal evolution characteristics and influencing fac-tors of the distribution of homestays in Hangzhou before and after the COVID-19 epidemic were studied. The re-sults show:by 2019,the spatial agglomeration degree, agglomeration density, and agglomeration range of newly added homestays in Hangzhou have been continuously strengthening and expanding, with the distribution center shifting towards the southwest. After the outbreak of the COVID-19,the spatial agglomeration degree, density and agglomeration range of the new homestays in Hangzhou decreased significantly, and the distribution center shifted significantly to the northeast. The newly added homestays were mainly distributed near the high agglomer-ation areas of the new homestays in 2018-2019,especially near the high agglomeration areas with West Lake Dis-trict as the core and the high agglomeration areas in Yuhang. After the outbreak of the COVID-19,the main fac-tors that previously affected the spatial distribution pattern of homestays in Hangzhou, such as tourism resources, traffic distribution,socio-economic development, agglomeration effects, and policy factors still have a greater impact on the spatial distribution pattern of homestays. The changes in people's travel habits caused by the COV-ID-19 also have an impact on the spatial distribution of homestays.
