The Arab Force in Kuwait of 1961 was an important exploration for the Arab world to resolve its internal conflicts in political and military terms independently.After the outbreak of the Iraq-Kuwait Crisis of 1961,with the exception of the Gulf Arab states,which were firmly opposed to Iraq for fear of spillover from the crisis,the reaction from other Arab states was lukewarm generally.With the deepening of the crisis,Britain's military intervention,the growing Arab public opinion against Britain,and the proposal of various self-interested solutions by Arab countries,Kuwait was forced to propose a solution to replace the British troops stationed in Kuwait with the Arab Force,and won the support of the Arab League and most Arab countries finally.Although the major Arab countries of the Arab League,based on their own selfish considerations and the motivation of mutual restraint and balances,made the for-mation process of the Force full of uncertainties,the Force was finally formed and deployed successfully with the aus-pices of the Arab League.The formation process of the Force also profoundly revealed the contradictory relationship of cooperation and mutual balances among Arab countries in this period.
