Study on the method of continuous flow analysis for measuring urea content in swimming pool water
Objective To establish a continuous flow analysis method for the determination of urea in swimming pool water in public places. Methods Urea content in swimming pool water samples was determined by continuous flow analyzer. The influence of nitrite, residual chlorine and other disturbing substances on urea determination results was investigated. The method adaptability of different instrument models of continuous flow analyzers was evaluated. The results of continuous flow analysis method were statistically analyzed with GB/T 18204.2-2014(national standard colorimetric method). Results The concentration range of urea from 0.10 mg/L to 10.00 mg/L showed a good linear relationship with the response value and the linear correlation coefficient(r)was 0.999 8.The method detection limit(MDL)was 0.014 mg/L.The relative standard deviation(RSD)was less than 0.5%,and the recovery rate was between 92.9%to 102.5%.There was no statisti-cally significant difference between continuous flow analysis method and national standard colorimetric method in the detec-tion results of the same sample(P>0.05).Conclusion The continuous flow analysis method is superior to the national standard colorimetric method in linear range, accuracy, and precision for the determination of urea content in swimming pool water. The method is simple, efficient and suitable for the detection of large quantities of samples.
