Analysis of the pathogenic spectrum of diarrhea in children in a district of Beijing City
Objective To analyze the pathogenic spectrum of infectious diarrhea in children in a certain district of Beijing City,so as to provide reference for scientific prevention and control of children's infectious diarrhea. Methods Basic infor-mation and fecal samples of children with infectious diarrhea in a certain district of Beijing City from December 2021 to No-vember 2022 were collected. The nucleic acids of 12 common bacteria and 3 viruses that caused diarrhea were detected by fluorescent PCR.Pathogenic spectrum was constructed and epidemic characteristics were analyzed. Results A total of 200 specimens of infectious diarrhea in children were collected, with a total pathogen detection rate of 35.00%(70/200).The detection rate of bacteria was 26.00%(52/200),with the top three detection rates being Escherichia coli(12.50%,25/200),Salmonella(9.00%,18/200),and Vibrio parahaemolyticus(5.50%,11/200),respectively.The virus detection rate was 10.50%(21/200),with rotavirus and norovirus detection rates of 4.00%(8/200)and 6.50%(13/200),respective-ly.In mixed infection, the detection rate of mixed infection of two bacteria was 5.00%(10/200),and the detection rate of mixed infection of one bacteria and one virus was 1.50%(3/200).There was statistically significant differences in the de-tection rate of bacterial pathogens(x2=16.225,P=0.001)and viruses(x2=35.184,P<0.001)in different seasons. Conclusion Diarrhoeal Escherichia coli,Salmonella,Vibrio parahaemolyticus, rotavirus, and norovirus have a high epidemic intensity in children with infectious diarrhea in a district of Beijing City. The coinfection of rotavirus,Salmonella and Vibrio parahaemolyticus with other bacterial pathogens should be given attention in children's diarrhea.
