Objective To understand the pathogen type and gene evolution of herpangina(HA)cluster in a kindergarten in Hefei City in 2020.Methods Enterovirus(EV)pathogen was detected on 11 throat swabs by real-time fluorescent quanti-tative RT-PCR.The VP1 area gene of coxsackievirus A6(CVA6)positive specimens were amplified by conventional RT-PCR,and the sequence was determined.MEGA 6.0 software was used to construct the phylogenetic tree. Results Among 11 throat swab samples,6 were positive for CVA6 nucleic acid. All 6 gene sequences belonged to the CVA6 D3 subtype. Conclusion CVA6 D3 subtype is the pathogen of the HA outbreak in the kindergarten.Enterovirus surveillance should be strengthened and attention should be paid to such outbreaks in child care facilities.
