Surveillance and analysis of death causes among residents in Longkou City of Shandong Province from 2020 to 2022
Objective To understand the mortality level and its change pattern of residents in Longkou City of Shandong Province from 2020 to 2022,so as to provide reference and basis for formulating local disease prevention and control meas-ures.Methods The International Classification of Diseases(ICD-10)was used to systematically code and classify all the data of death causes in Longkou City.The software SPSS 22.0 and Excel 2010 were applied to sort out the death data of per-manent residents in Longkou City from 2020 to 2022,and analyze the mortality rate,standardized mortality rate and rank of death causes.Results From 2020 to 2022,a total of 18 826 deaths were reported in Longkou City,and the calculated death rate was 869.01 per 100 000.There were 10 746 deaths in males and 8 080 deaths in females,and the mortality rates were 983.38 per 100 000 and 752.65 per 100 000,respectively.The mortality rate of males was higher than that of females(x2=334.38,P＜0.001).The top five causes of death in Longkou residents were heart disease,malignant tumor,cerebrovascu-lar disease,injury and respiratory system disease,accounting for 91.23％of the total causes of death.The second type of disease accounted for 93.03％of all deaths in Longkou City.Conclusion The leading causes of death in Longkou City were chronic noncommunicable diseases,mainly cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and malignant tumors.The rel-evant departments should strengthen the publicity and education of chronic noncommunicable diseases,formulate effective measures to reduce the incidence and mortality of chronic noncommunicable diseases,so as to improve the life quality of res-idents in Longkou City.
