Analysis of foodborne disease surveillance results in Zhangzhou City from 2018 to 2022
Objective To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of foodborne diseases cases in Zhangzhou City from 2018 to 2022,and to provide a reference basis for precise prevention and control of foodborne diseases.Methods Collect surveillance data on foodborne diseases in Zhangzhou City from 2018 to 2022,describe the three-dimension distribution of foodborne diseases,and analyze the main suspicious exposed foods and their sources.Results A total of 37 162 cases of food-borne illness were reported in Zhangzhou City from 2018 to 2022,with a gender ratio of 0.90:1.The high-risk age group was the 0-5 years old group(12.56%),the 26-30 years old group(8.22%),and the 31-35 years old group(8.21%).The occupational distribution dominated by farmers(41.18%),and the peak incidence was concentrated from July to Sep-tember.The main symptoms were diarrhea and abdominal pain.The pathogenic foods were mainly aquatic animals and prod-ucts(20.61%),meat and meat products(15.34%).Suspected exposed foods were mainly processed and packaged at home(53.56%),and the main food sources were retail/farmer's market(45.49%).Conclusion The incidence of foodborne diseases in Zhangzhou City has noticeable seasonal and population characteristics.It is recommended that relevant depart-ments strengthen the construction of foodborne disease monitoring systems,improve the quality of surveillance reports,strengthen food safety supervision,and enhance the popularization of science and education.
