Investigation on the prevalence and influencing factors of chronic diseases among residents in a community of Suzhou City
Objective To analyze the prevalence and influencing factors of chronic diseases among residents of a community in Suzhou City,and to provide a basis for the comprehensive management and prevention of chronic diseases in the commu-nity.Methods A total of 788 residents from 202 households in a community in Suzhou City were sampled using the whole cluster random sampling method.Questionnaire surveys,physical measurements,and laboratory tests were carried out to cal-culate the prevalence of chronic diseases and other indicators.SPSS 26.0 was used for statistical analysis.Results The prevalence rate of chronic diseases in a community in Suzhou City was 36.55%,and the top five were hypertension(32.49%),diabetes(7.87%),dyslipidemia(6.47%),coronary heart disease(2.03%),and stroke(1.90%).The results of multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that 60-79 years old(OR=24.409,95%CI:8.503-70.073),≥80 years old(OR=45.889,95%CI:12.550-167.780),family history of chronic diseases(OR=6.545,95%CI:4.205-10.189),o-verweight or obesity(OR=1.811,95%CI:1.205-2.723)were influencing factors for the prevalence of chronic diseases.Conclusion The prevalence of chronic diseases among residents in this community is high,and the focus should be on high-risk groups such as those aged 60-79 or≥80,with family history of chronic diseases,overweight and obesity,etc.The comprehensive management and prevention of chronic diseases in the community should be strengthened to prevent the oc-currence and development of chronic diseases.
