Analysis of results of death causes surveillance of residents in Meizhou City from 2019 to 2022
Objective To understand the main causes of death and life loss of registered residents in Meizhou City,and pro-vide basis for formulating relevant disease control and prevention strategies.Methods Download the data of all death cases of registered residents in Meizhou City from 2019 to 2022,mortality,life expectancy,cause of death sequence and other indi-cators were calculated to analyze the main causes of life loss and death.Results From 2019 to 2022,the mortality rate of registered residents in Meizhou City was 588.435/100 000,the standardized mortality rate was 453.795/100 000.The mor-tality rate of men and women was 653.420/100 000 and 519.368/100 000,respectively.The top five causes of death were heart disease,malignant tumor,cerebrovascular disease,respiratory system disease,and endocrine nutrition and metabolic disease.The average life expectancy of Meizhou residents was 80.28 years(80.30 years,80.32 years,80.68 years and 79.80 years from 2019 to 2022).After removing the influence of heart disease,the life expectancy could increase by 4.61 years,after removing the influence of malignant tumors,the life expectancy could increase by 3.12 years,and after removing the effect of cerebrovascular disease,the life expectancy could increase by 2.27 years.The diseases those had a significant impact on the lifespan of different age groups in Meizhou City were perinatal diseases(0-4 years old),injuries(5-14 years old),malignant tumors(15-44 years old,45-64 years old),and heart diseases(≥65 years old).Conclusion Chronic and noncommunicable diseases,especially cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and malignant tumors,are the main fac-tors affecting health and life expectancy of residents in Meizhou City.
