Evaluation of the effectiveness of the Field Epidemiology Training Program in Fujian Province from 2020 to 2024
Objective To understand the training effectiveness and training needs of the Fujian Province Field Epidemiolo-gy Training Program(FJFETP),and provide reference for further improving FETP.Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted among 104 graduated trainees of the FETP in Fujian Province from 2020 to 2024.and R.4.4.1 software was used for data organization and statistical analysis. Results A total of 5 FETP sessions were held in Fujian Province from 2020 to 2024,with 104 graduates, covering 9 cities,1 comprehensive experimental zone, and 63 counties(cities, districts)in the province. The coverage rate of counties(cities, districts)reached 73.26%(63/86).Among the 104 graduating students,67.31%(70/104)came from the county(city, district)level CDC,98.08%(102/104)believed that their over-all work ability had been improved after the training,42.31%(44/104)chose the Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention as the best spot to practice on-site during the training period, and 95.19%(99/104)chose professional and technical personnel from disease control institutions as instructors during the centralized period.Among the eight ability en-hancement evaluations,"the ability to independently organize complex on-site epidemiological investigations in the event of disease outbreaks or emergency health events"scored the highest at 7.46 points. The score after training was(71.50±22.60)points,which was higher than the score before training[(42.30±20.00)points],and the difference was statisti-cally significant(t=9.864,P<0.001).Conclusion The overall work ability of FJFETP graduates has been greatly im-proved,and further improvements are needed in training instructors, training models, and funding guarantee mechanisms to ensure the high-quality promotion of FJFETP.
