Aim To observe pharmacological effect of Zhenke-pingchuan granule. Method The cough-relieving effect of Zhenke-ping-chuan granule was observed by mouse cough model induced by NH40H and Guinea-pig cough model induced by citric acid with Capillary method; Observation on the phlegm expelling effect was completed by using phenol red. Results Zhenke-pingchuan granule could prolong apparently the coughing incubation period and reduce coughing frequency, increase excretion of phenol red and phlegm from the respiratory tract. Conclusion Zhenke-pingchuan granule has a curative effect of relieving cough and expelling phlegm.
