Current status and progress of spinal cord stimulation in the treatment of painful peripheral neuropathies
Painful peripheral neuropathy is a peripheral neuropathy characterized by neuropathic pain.Spinal cord stimulation blocks the transmission of pain signals by stimulating spinal nerves with pulsed electrical currents.Spinal cord stimulation has been used in a variety of neurological disorders,including painful peripheral neuropathies,and is widely used in clinical practice.This article pro-vides information on the treatment of painful peripheral neuropathies by spinal cord stimulation.Also,this article reviews the basic mechanism of spinal cord stimulation for analgesia,the clinical application value in painful peripheral neuropathies,and the latest ad-vancements in this technology.
