Correlation between serum Omentin-1 and ANGPTL2 levels and relapse in patients with atrial fibrillation after radiofrequency ablation
Objective To investigate the correlation between serum levels of omentin-1 and angiopoietin-like protein 2(ANGPTL2)and recurrence after radiofrequency ablation in patients with atrial fibrillation(AF).Methods A total of 125 AF patients were selected to undergo radiofrequency ablation in Zhengzhou University Affiliated Luoyang Central Hospital from January 2021 to January 2022,and were divided into 2 groups according to follow-up results:no recurrence group(n=93)and recurrence group(n=32);enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)was applied to measure serum levels of Omentin-1,ANGPTL2,interleukin(IL)-6,IL-8,and tumor necro-sis factor-α(TNF-α);Pearson was applied to analyze the correlation between serum levels of Omentin-1 and ANGPTL2 and various in-dicators in patients with atrial fibrillation after radiofrequency ablation;multivariate Logistic regression was applied to analyze the influ-encing factors of recurrence in patients with atrial fibrillation after radiofrequency ablation;receiver operating characteristic curve(ROC curve)was applied to evaluate the value of serum Omentin-1 and ANGPTL2 levels in predicting recurrence in patients with atrial fibrillation after radiofrequency ablation. Results The serum levels of IL-6[(3.56±0.73)ng/L],IL-8[(8.26±2.58)ng/L],TNF-α[(7.34±2.19)ng/L],and left atrial diameter(LAD)[(37.24±5.23)mm]in the recurrent group were obviously higher than those in the non recur-rent group[(1.41±0.26)ng/L,(3.49±1.04)ng/L,(2.67±0.63)ng/L,(31.44±4.16)mm],while LVEF level was obviously lower than that in the non recurrent group(P<0.05);compared with the non recurrent group, the serum Omentin-1 level in the recurrent group was obvi-ously reduced, while the serum ANGPTL2 level in the recurrent group was obviously increased(P<0.05);Pearson analysis showed that the serum level of Omentin-1 in patients with atrial fibrillation before radiofrequency ablation was negatively correlated with inflamma-tory factors IL-6,IL-8,TNF-α,and LAD,and positively correlated with LVEF(P<0.05);the level of serum ANGPTL2 was positively correlated with inflammatory factors IL-6,IL-8,TNF-α,and LAD,while negatively correlated with LVEF(P<0.05),and Omentin-1 and ANGPTL2 levels were negatively correlated;multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that high level of Omentin-1 was indepen-dent protective factor for recurrence in patients with atrial fibrillation after radiofrequency ablation, while high levels of ANGPTL2,IL-6,and IL-8 were independent risk factors for recurrence in patients with atrial fibrillation after radiofrequency ablation(P<0.05);ROC curve analysis showed that the area under the curve(AUC)predicted by serum levels of Omentin-1 and ANGPTL2 for recurrence in pa-tients with atrial fibrillation after radiofrequency ablation was 0.88 and 0.84,respectively,the AUC predicted by the combination of the two was 0.94,with better efficacy than that predicted by the two alone(Z=1.93 and 2.10,P<0.05).Conclusion The serum Omentin-1 level in patients with atrial fibrillation obviously decreases after radiofrequency ablation, the serum ANGPTL2 level obviously increas-es,they are related to postoperative recurrence, and the combination of the two has certain value in predicting the recurrence of atrial fi-brillation after radiofrequency ablation.
