On the Distribution of Zhenwu Temple in Guangyuan City
Zhenwu is the God of subduing demons in Taoism.Its initial influence is mainly concentrated in the surrounding area of Wu-dang Mountain in Hubei Province.Its belief has a process of spreading out in history.Guangyuan is located at the junction of Sichuan and Shaanxi.It has always been the traffic gateway of northern Sichuan.There are a large number of Zhenwu temples in Guangyuan,which reflects the strong atmosphere of folk belief for Zhenwu here.This article selects many first-hand field materials to confirm and reveal the characteristics of the Zhenwu faith in Guangyuan area from point to surface.The distribution of multiple Zhenwu temples in Guangyuan region can be analyzed in depth from three aspects:geographical factors,imperial power factors,and historical factors.
