Application of Multimodal Corpus in Teaching Interpreting Difficulties
Since interpretation difficulties in the multimodal simultaneous interpretation corpus are annotated,and can be searched and the results can be displayed together with transcripts,images and voice,the corpus can be applied in the teaching and training of inter-preting difficulties.Using annotation marks,the teacher can search for particular kinds of interpreting difficulties,and explain particular phenomena and interpreting skills to students.According to students'characteristics,the teacher can also assign different training tasks to students,such as follow-up reading,sight interpretation and simulated interpretation.In training,the students can try interpret-ing first after they hear the speaker's voice,and then compare their interpretation with that by professional interpreters.In this way,they can be aware of their limitations and try to improve their interpreting competence.
