The Role of Chieftain Recruitment in the Ming Dynasty with the Awareness of the Chinese Ethnic Community——Taking"Baojing Tusi"as a Case Study
The Chieftain System was formed in the Yuan Dynasty and developed completely in the Ming Dynasty.In the mid to late Ming Dynasty,with the decline of national strength and the turbulence of the situation,frequent recruitment of chieftains began.The Baojing chieftain was frequently transferred from the excavation area by the central dynasty to participate in various military wars of the Ming dynasty.In the military recruitment,the Baojing chieftain demonstrated super strong military strength and profound political iden-tification with the central government,consciously integrating into the community of the Chinese nation,and promoting the transforma-tion of the Chinese nation from a"free"community to a"conscious"community,Accelerated the historical process of ethnic mi-norities in the Southwest region becoming members of the Chinese National Community.
