The book,Guanzi,is a massive volume among the pre-Qin philosophers,and it is also an extremely complex difficult book to read.By analyzing the military strength and the number of chariots and troops recorded in some chapters of Guanzi,we can conclude its content related to the military system is based on the early Spring and Autumn period and the late Spring and Autumn period to the early Warring States period.By the economic thoughts recorded in Guanzi with those of other schools,we can conclude that the final comple-tion date of the book is no earlier than the year of Yuanshou in the reign of Emperor Wu of Han(110 BC).
