This article discusses two types of disyllabic tone,less-neutralized type and highly-neutralized type(hence LDT and HDT),in Kongtong dialect,which is located in Pingliang city,Gansu province.The conclusions are as follows:1.Verb-object structures often present LDT,while reduplications and"lexical morphemes+functional morphemes"structures often present HDT.2.Each syllable in a structure with LDT keeps citation tone except a few disyllabic groups.3.HDT can be divided into two types,normal disyllabic type and special disyllabic type.The former one contains reduplication of nouns and reduplication of classifiers with"subjective small quantity"meanings.The later one contains reduplication of adjectives and adverbials and reduplication of classifiers with"all-over"meanings.4.The tone change of the latter syllable is dominated by the former one in a disyllabic group.5.Some tone patterns are shared in and be-tween LDT and HDT.
