Efficacy of Warm Acupuncture and Moxibustion Combined with Rehabilitation Training in Treatment of Rotator Cuff Injury
Objective:To observe the efficacy of warm acupuncture combined with rehabilitation training in the treatment of rotator cuff injury.Methods:70 patients with rotator cuff injury who attended the outpatient clinic of Rehabilitation Hospital Affiliated to Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2019 to January 2020 were selected, and were divided into 35 cases each in the treatment group and the control group by randomized numerical table method. The control group was treated with reha-bilitation training, and the treatment group was treated with warm acupuncture and moxibustion on the basis of the control group for a period of 14 d.The changes in visual analog scale(VAS)scores of pain, the peak torque of the shoulder joint, the difference ratio of the peak torque between the affected side and the healthy side, and the peak torque ratio of the active muscle and the antagonistic muscle at isokinetic speeds of 30°/s and 60°/s were compared between the two groups before and after the treatment.Results:Com-pared with before treatment, the pain VAS scores of the two groups after treatment were significantly lower(P<0.05).Compared with the control group after treatment, the pain VAS score of the treatment group was significantly lower(P<0.05).The results of iso-kinetic muscle strength testing of the shoulder joint showed an increase in peak moments and a decrease in the difference between the peak moments of the affected and healthy sides of the shoulder joint for each movement at both angular velocities(angular ve-locities of 30°/s and 60°/s)after treatment compared to the pre-treatment period.Compared with the control group, the peak torque(angular velocity 30°/s)and adduction peak torque(angular velocity 60°/s)of shoulder joint flexion, extension and abduction in the treatment group showed a more significant increase(P<0.05).In the treatment group, the difference of peak torque between the af-fected side and the healthy side of shoulder joint flexion, extension, adduction and abduction after treatment was greater than that be-fore treatment, and the difference was significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference before and after treatment in the con-trol group.Under the two angular velocities, when the treatment group and the control group did each action, the peak torque ratio of the active muscle and the antagonistic muscle of the shoulder joint was about 1.After treatment, there was no significant difference in the peak torque ratio of the active muscle and the antagonistic muscle when the shoulder joint was flexion, extension, adduction, abduction, internal and external rotation(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in the peak torque difference between the af-fected side and the healthy side of the shoulder joint in the control group before and after treatment(P>0.05).Conclusion:Warm acu-puncture combined with rehabilitation training can effectively reduce the pain symptoms of patients with rotator cuff injury, promote the recovery of shoulder muscle strength and improve shoulder joint function, which is worthy of clinical application and promotion.
