Tutorial Class:Model Innovation in The British University Extension Movement
The tutorial class, which was born in the early 20th century, is a new form of adult higher education in the University Extension Movement. Based on liberal adult education and non-partisan worker education, it actively explored management mode, funding mechanism, cur-riculum and teaching methods, and reversed the decline in the development of the British university promotion movement at the turn of the centu-ry. The tutorial class broke through the single teaching mode of the previous promotion education, which mainly focused on lectures and short-term classes, focused on group discussion and paper writing, improved the organization and teaching level of workers' education, and became the new pattern for the British working class to receive higher education in the 20th century.
