Can Smart Classroom Promote Interactions?——Empirical Evidences from Behavioral Sequence Analysis
Sufficient classroom interaction is an important way to stimulate students' learning initiative and autonomy, cultivate students' higher-order thinking ability and improve teaching quality. Taking the teaching process of core professional courses in the first and second semes-ters of 2022-2023 in a university in Bengbu,a city of Anhui Province,as the object of a quasi-natural experiment, this paper discusses the influ-ence of smart classroom environment on teacher-student interaction through interactive behavior coding and sequence analysis. The results show that:Compared with the traditional multimedia classroom, the frequency of active conversation initiated by the teacher in the wisdom classroom is significantly decreased, while the frequency of the teacher's observation and guidance behavior, technical operation and testing activities is sig-nificantly increased. The frequency of active conversation and action increased significantly, while the frequency of passive behavior decreased significantly. By stimulating more active behaviors of students and passive behaviors of teachers, wisdom classroom is helpful to enhance the principal status and enthusiasm of students in learning.
